This detailed data allows our partnered sleep specialist to accurately assess for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) and other sleep-related breathing disorders.

The process is simple and professionally guided.

After receiving a referral from your GP, you will attend ACP Sleep Clinic for a private appointment. One of our professionally trained team members will set you up with the sleep study equipment in a private consultation room. This appointment can take up to one hour.

During this time, we:

• Fit the monitoring equipment correctly
• Configure and calibrate the device
• Perform test readings to ensure accuracy
• Explain how to manage the equipment overnight

Once set up, you return home with the device attached and sleep as normal in your own bed. In the morning, you simply remove the equipment and return it to our clinic.

Once your equipment is returned, the data is securely sent to a registered sleep technologist within two business days (please note the clinic is closed on weekends and public holidays).

The technologist carefully analyses your results before forwarding the report to one of our sleep specialists. The specialist then provides a formal report to your referring GP.

In most cases, your GP receives the final report within four business days, allowing timely follow-up and treatment planning.

Yes. A valid GP referral is required before a sleep study can be performed at ACP Sleep Clinic.

To make the process simple, we provide Sleep Apnoea Information and Referral Packs that you can take directly to your doctor. These packs outline the clinical requirements for an at-home sleep study and assist your GP in completing the referral correctly.

The cost of your sleep study depends on your eligibility for Medicare benefits.

Your GP will assess whether you qualify for a Medicare rebate. If eligible, a Medicare benefit may apply, reducing your out-of-pocket expense.
